Kenya requires an eTA for most nationalities — apply online 3+ days before travel. Tanzania issues visas on arrival; Botswana is visa-free for most Western passports up to 90 days.

Health
Yellow fever certificate required if arriving from an endemic country. Antimalarials strongly advised. Consult a travel clinic 4–6 weeks pre-departure.
Best Time to Visit
East Africa is a year-round destination. July–October: the migration in the Mara. Jan–March: dry-season game viewing across Amboseli. Nov–Dec: emerald short-rains — lush, quiet, low-season pricing.
Packing
Neutral tones (khaki, olive, soft browns). Layered clothing for dawn/dusk. Broad-brimmed hat, quality sunglasses, closed shoes, headtorch and a bandana for dust.
Photography
Bring a fast wide zoom (24–70) and a long lens (100–400 or 200–600). A bean bag is worth more than a tripod in a game vehicle.
Money
USD is widely accepted. M-Pesa (mobile money) is universal in Kenya. Bring small denominations for gratuities.
Tipping
Guide: $20–30 per guest per day. Camp staff: $10–15 per guest per day pooled. Concierge advises exact amounts.
Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation is mandatory on all our itineraries.
